My former boss is dying of a glioblastoma.
A very aggressive brain tumor.

She was one of the most fervent legal advocates you ever met. Money was not the reason she became a lawyer. She wanted to help people who were at a disadvantage and fix their problems.

She's being moved to a hospice today and probably won't survive much longer.

I went to visit her yesterday. While she was unresponsive, she did squeeze my hand when I spoke to her.

Everyone who knows her is in a state of shock. Nobody knows how long she knew about the tumor; it could be two years ago or it could be six weeks ago when she fell.

4. My former boss would find that fact comforting as she's been a staunch
liberal and progressive. Sharing a destiny with EMK may be the only thing she'd find unobjectionable about her situation.

5. I am terribly sorry
I had a good friend who died of the same thing. Malignant brain tumours are horrible!

I wish all the best to your former boss and her family.

6. My sympathies to you.
Brain tumors are hell.

My older sister died of an astrocytoma (I think it's related to what you're talking about, I'm not sure).
She was under treatment for fourteen months and was about forty when she died. Those tumors hit young adults.

She worked at M.D. Anderson Hospital in Houston, which is the largest cancer hospital in the world. She worked for the head of pathology and loved her job.

Her death destroyed me and my mom and dad.

7. I'm so sorry for your loss.
I visited my ex-boss today at hospice. I brought a client whom I "inherited" from her. This woman wanted to thank her for all the help she gave. I hope my boss heard and understood it all.
