Edited on Wed Feb-09-05 04:46 PM by terrya
Senator Durbin and Representative Jan Schakowsky will vote against it, I know. I HOPE my new Senator, Barack Obama, will do the same. I will be majorly pissed if he votes for this disgusting, hateful piece of shite.

5. Sorry, The Link Won't Work
Use This instead...

http://thomas.loc.gov/

Then, hit the radio button over to Look up by Bill number (it defaults to bill name)
And in the search field type this

S. J. RES. 1

and it will be right there for you. I'm also not surprised to find BOTH of my worthless shithead Senators from texas signed onto this one. (Cornyn and Hutchison)

Heh... and people wonder why I'm so hostile towards fundies.

"Oh just be quiet, Allen." "Don't make a fuss, Allen." "Take one for the team, Allen." "Be nice, Allen." "Sit down, Allen." "Sometimes bigotry is okay, Allen."

It's a shame that the exploitation of bigotry and ignorance isn't unlawful - or immoral - or unethical.

Think about it. Who benefits from all this grandstanding? This is nothing more than "special interest" legislation (or political payback) for the TV evangelists or 'men of faith' who build large Christian flocks/empires.

Follow the sound of the "Kah-ching" and get pissed off. It should piss you off.

edit: clarity

13. The last attempt failed in an election year
So I don't expect that this attempt will get out of the Senate either. There's a sizeable chunk of Republicans who oppose tinkering with the Constitution as well.

17. "Or the legal incidents thereof"
The religious-reich calls civil unions "counterfeit marriages" and wants those banned as well.

That not only bans civil unions, but it also bans the granting of any individual right normally reserved for married people.

Think about that one.

21. When this comes up....can the Queen of South Carolina be outed?
I'm referring to the senior Senator from South Carolina. He'll vote for this, that's a certainity. My feeling is that if you're gay, and you vote for hateful, discriminatory legislation that affects gay and lesbian folks...you should a pay a price for this. It's outing time for closet cases who would willingly sell us down the river.
