2. This is kind of offensive placing this in the GLBT room,

if you know what I'm saying.

Especially since he denies being gay, I think this is a general discussion thread.

Most progressive/liberal/Democratic type gays and lesbians fiercely reject fake Republican gay people like Larry Craig.

I don't want to be associated with any nasty Republican trying to get blown in an airport bathroom or any of those traitor Log Cabin Republicans who vote the very people into office who seek to deny their civil liberties.

3. I am no particular fan of

indulging in sex, straight or gay, in public rest rooms, and feel that nowadays it is generally closeted, often hypocritical types like Craig who do it (too scared to go into gay bars or post a photo online) but this business of sending baby-faced plainclothes cops into bathrooms to more or less entrap homosexual men smacks a little too much of the pre-Stonewall period. If some hot babe was fucking her boyfriend in one of the men's room stalls -- as DOES happen from time to time -- they might get arrested, but I don't think it would engender the same amount of pious disgust.

That's not to say that I think these men ought to cruise public rest rooms, where they're only asking for trouble, and may hit on someone who has absolutely no interest in them or at least in fooling around in a public bathroom. Indeed, one could say their behavior is very pre-Stonewall. And only helps foster crude, old-fashioned stereotypes of gay men.

But the entrapment/sting aspect of this still troubles me ...

If it's true, I hold less and less towards the so-called "entrapment" excuse. Once is a coincidence. Twice... I don't think so.
