Pacifica Woman Charged For Assaulting Gay Couple With Produce

SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO -- A woman accused of targeting a gay couple with a selection of produce in Pacifica in March was arraigned Friday in a South San Francisco courtroom, the San Mateo County district attorney's office reported.

Tiffany Adler, 20, is accused of heaving an assortment of apples and asparagus at the couple from the interior of a van driving past them as they walked down a city street, according to the district attorney's office.

Adler also allegedly yelled a slur at the victims, the district attorney's office reported.

Both victims were struck by the fruits and vegetables, and police investigating the incident reportedly discovered a piece of asparagus in Adler's purse, according to the district attorney's office.

Only outlaws will fling asparagus.

I don't mean to make light of this incident (a hate crime is a hate crime), but asparagus? There's something inherently funny about asparagus. The word even sounds humorous.

Now the apples: ouch! Those have got to hurt. She should have stuck to asparagus, and left off the apples and the insults.

10. Pathetica ... oops, I mean Pacifica, is so *not* SF

I have lived in P-town for almost 15 years - to give but a small example of how unsophisticate this burg is, our Denny's and Safeway close around midnight or so. It's the cheapest, most beautiful place on the coast to live, but the people here are really from the Stone Ages (no offense meant to any Geico cavemen.)

I lived for several years in Pacifica with my girlfriend and we never got hassled. It was a laid back, funky little beach town.
