http://www.365gay.com/Newscon06/10/100406virginia.htmWith only weeks before voters go to the polls to consider amending Virginia's constitution to ban same-sex marriage, civil unions, and possibly domestic partner benefits advocates and opponents are readying their troops for a final push to get their messages across.
Supporters of the amendment have blanketed the state with automated phone messages which the Family Foundation calls a survey but which some political analysts call a thinly veiled attempt to rally conservative voters.
The foundation has targeted 2.1 million households. The calls ask people to use their touchtone phones to respond to the survey, which asks questions about same-sex marriage, abortion and opinions on various candidates.
But political analysts in the state tell the Daily Press of Hampton Roads that they believe the organization is creating a massive database by gathering the names and phone numbers of like-minded citizens who they will target on election day to get them out to vote.
