1. How can they be NOM if they are against some marriages?

I never understood that.

2. Because they refuse to recognize unions between same-sex couples as valid marriages.

Based on that limitation, flawed as it is, they can be the an organization "for marriage" and still be consistent in their message.

5. I know what they would say...

...about limitations on marriage and the ugly and absurd comparisons they would make. But the bottom line is they are still against some adults getting married. If this were fifty years ago, they would make the same arguments about interracial marriages.
