Goodbye Mannywood
In a matter of weeks, They sold nearly 5,000 seats in a section in left field that has been traditionally hard to sell by naming it after their most popular player, but the Los Angeles Dodgers did the obvious on Thursday evening and declared Mannywood dead.

This after the section's namesake Manny Ramirez was found to have used a performance-enhancing drug and was suspended 50 games by Major League Baseball.

Since the Mannywood section came into being, a Dodgers official told CNBC that about 2,500 people had bought the two-seat packages, which cost $99 (Ramirez' jersey number) and came with two Mannywood T-shirts.

Those who purchased future Mannywood seats and no longer want to attend the game can get refunds or a credit. They also will be able to exchange their Mannywood T-shirt vouchers for two shirts in the Dodgers team store valued at $28 each or less.

-----

This is great...couldn't happen to a more deserving team, except maybe the Yankees. There will now be a permanent stain upon Dodger blue.

1. That is pretty funny.
You know, bad as my team is, they sure are beginning to look good compared to LA, NY....

2. Have I mentioned just how much Boston doesn't miss him?
I do feel bad for the Dodgers, though. But, they had to know they were taking their chances.

3. Jose Canseco said last year the reason Boston management wanted him out
was because they suspected he was juicing, and they knew this was gonna cause problems. I'll never doubt Jose Canseco again.

4. Oh Please
Boston is so pure---bullshit... They won the series with juice in his body.

Same shit with the dumbass Giant fans sticking their heads up their asses when it came to Bonds.

5. Please yourself, buddy....
...I believe Manny is a late-in-life juicer, like Clemens, starting to go downhill and decided he wanted to proliong his career...and tell me why Manny wasn't in the Mitchell Report? Oh yeah, your guessing is MUCH MORE ACCURATE.

10. So you don't think he was juiced during his days with the Red Sox?

13. I don't know for sure about Manny, but I'd bet the rent money that Trot Nixon was.
Manny could easily have been while he was here, but he's such a good hitter anyways that's it's hard to be sure. I don't just mean home run hitting, but he's one of the deadliest two-strike hitters I've ever seen, and that's not a result of steroids.

In light of this news though, I personally think he probably was while he was here in Boston. And I doubt he would be the only one, just as I doubt any team is clean, even now. That's why the blame the team stuff is a chump's game. The exception would if the team knows a player is juicing and does nothing (and I'm sure there may be instances of that), but the team's can't babysit these clowns 24/7.

14. I wonder if Manny did more of the HGH thing.
It seems like the older he was getting the better he was hitting and I think HGH is good for that.

15. I think he's a late bloomer, like Clemens, not a life-long juicer, like Bonds...
...he's getting older, wants to keep on playing and keep on commanding an astronomical salary.

17. You're right--no team know's if it's clean.
but I disagree that steroids don't come into play regarding the two strike comment. Bat Speed has a lot to do with connecting with the ball--- steroids increase bat speed.

6. It reflects on Manny, and Manny alone.
The players are the ones responsible. Unless you can show that the team knew and just turned a blind eye the only ones this stuff reflects on is the dumbass players who do it. Not the team, not the team's fans...the player alone.

8. All these Spankee whiners coming out of the woodwork...well, Clemens, Petite
were definitely juiced when the Spankees won in the late 90's...what about Pujlos and the Cardinals...there's dirt on every team, so these whiners need to look in the mirror first.

appropriate the way the LA fans treated Bonds.

Dodgers*

just as long as you put an asterisk next to the Giants seasons during Barry's roid days.

Oh that's right--- he never took Roids.
