Congratulations to the Pittsburgh Pirates on completing in style their 17th
consecutive losing seasons. Kudos to the management who will be starting the 18th year of a five year rebuilding plan next year.

:grr:

Morans!

1. I was at fan appreciation night the last Saturday of the season
Edited on Tue Oct-21-08 02:57 PM by hughee99
when they had Lynyrd Skynyrd come out for an hour. It was a weird game where the stands became more packed the later the game got. In the first inning, barely anyone was there, but in the 9th it was standing room only. It was a nice park, though, and the city was a good time as well.

on Edit (their last Saturday home game, not THE last saturday of the season)

2. I think my brother has been once or twice since it opened. I remember
going down to see them in the late 70's when they were actually a contender every year, and even then, they were lucky to draw 10,000 to Three Rivers. I assume it compares similarly to Camden Yards here in Baltimore.

3. Camden Yards is nicer
I was there a few years back, but all in all, PNC wasn't bad at all. All are nicer than Fenway. Fenway park has undergone some renovations in recent years that make it more bearable, but all in all, it's a great field surrounded by a bad stadium for fans.

4. And we wonder why Jason Bay was so happy to be traded...not...
...I really wish the Red Sox had won it all again this year just for him. He played his heart out, and was very happy finally to be on a team that was going places...maybe next year.
