Bring on the Dodgers!
My Cubs are going to play the Los Angeles Dodgers in the opening round of the NL Playoffs. I say, BRING 'EM ON! Cubs in four. This has been a tremendous regular season. I'm kind of sorry it has to end, but as long as the post season goes my way, it doesn't matter. GO CUBS!

2. This gives the Cubs the chance to win the Series on the 100th anniversary of their last doing so

There's something Gaciamaquesian* about that.

*So I am not asked, Garciamargesian is the adverbial form of García Márquez, author of One Hundred Years of Solitude and Love in the Time of Cholera.

4. Bring on the Phillies as well!
They do not have anywhere near the pitching staff the Cubs do and cannot field well either. Cubs over the Phils in 7.

6. By "Steve Bartman in the stands", you of course mean "Alex Gonzalez at SS".
Edited on Sun Sep-28-08 09:49 PM by antiwarwarrior
After all, Gonzalez had a perfectly routine double play ball, right after the Bartman incident, and kicked it.

Anyway, there's no good reason the Cubs shouldn't roll to the Series.

7. As Long As They're Smart Enough To PItch Around Manny
The rest of the lineup is far from frightening. Manny, however, is a whole different color throroughbred.

12. Yes, Go Cubs.
And here's to a miracle in Philadelphia. The Cubs would crush the Brewers, but an all midwest NLCS would be awesome!
