N.Y. Giants raise ticket prices....The price of success!!

ERNIE PALLADINO
GANNETT NEWSPAPERS
Saturday, March 22, 2008

That Super Bowl XLII victory in February is costing Giants fans plenty now.

Not only did the team raise its ticket prices for the sixth consecutive year, but they went up significantly in some areas. The average rise was $7.01, and seats in two areas in particular have reached triple digits for the first time.

Mezzanine seats are now $105, up $10 from last year's price. And Sections 110, 111, 112, 130, 131, and 132 -- the lower level midfield area -- have gone up $15 to $100.

<snip>

"Wow," said Alex Cestaro of Yonkers, a season ticket holder for 11 years.

"My gosh. What's this, the sixth straight year they raised prices? I can see they won the Super Bowl, but what about the other five years?" Cestaro, though, said he didn't plan on giving up the seats. Instead, he has cut other areas, such as Knicks season tickets. He still holds Yankees tickets, but they might be the next to go after the new stadium opens next year.

3. It isn't football, but
that is why I like Mark Cuban, he actually lowered prices in some area's on the NEW stadium, and this was after the Mavs failed run in the finals 3 years ago. I was impressed. He would even have some "special" games where you could get some tickets for $5. True, they were nose bleed seats, but $5, hey.

Few owners care about their fans the way Cuban does. Although as much as I like him, he has cost the team alot also.

4. I think I read the Dolphins have raised ticket prices 8 or 10 years in a row
But this year some marvelous restraint, courtesy of Wayne Huizenga, coming off a 1-15 season. Season ticket holders can purchase at last year's prices up to a certain date. Then the '08 increase kicks in for everyone else.

I went to Doral this week. The general admission tickets to attend one day of a golf tournament were $55.

5. The Dolphins
should pay their fans to come to their games after last season.

9. so have the redskins
add in the mandatory parking pass ($35/game) and you are looking at two top row season tickets to fedex costing $2350 including the mandatory preseason games. And that is either cash or your redskins credit card. That's what a 20 year waiting list will do for you.
