Smurf turf yes, blue uniforms no?
So the http://www.idahostatesman.com/2011/07/27/1740378/brian-murphy-no-blue-on-the-blue.html">Mountain West Conference won't let Boise State wear blue to their home games?

I HATE HATE HATE the smurf turf, but this is a silly "solution." And it's hardly unique, but I don't see anyone telling Michigan State it's unfair that they wear green at home (and the article mentions Colorado State in a similar vein.

1. So I won't be automatically changing the channel when I see a Boise State home game?
Bonus for CFB.

2. I can't stand watching games on that blue turf..
it doesn't even seem real, it's like some kind of cartoon. BSU knows full well wearing blue uniforms on a blue field gives them much more of a competitive advantage than a regular home field normally yields. Thankfully, they haven't brought their childish nonsense to the Pac-12..

Btw, the comparison to MSU doesn't work..as green is the natural color of grass..

4. But the comparison is about "blending in" with the field, I think
And from 1969-2002 MSU didn't play on natural grass anyway.

I think any such edge would be pretty tiny... but certainly blue-on-blue stinks on TV in a way green-on-green doesn't

5. "Smurf turf" sucks. Does nothing for the game, IMO.
If horses and cows don't eat it, players shouldn't be playing on it.
