How 'bout them Rangers!!!!! 12 in-a-row!

The Texas Rangers won their 12th straight game last night, shutting out the Los Angeles Angels of Carmageddon 7-0 behind the strong pitching of Alexi Ogando. Ever so quietly, the defending AL champs have put together the longest winning streak in the majors this season. The 12 game streak is the second longest in franchise history and passes the 11 game win streak that the Rangers had last Summer in June. I was surprised to find out that the 12 game winning streak is actually the longest in MLB in over five years! The Red Sox last won 12 in a row all the way back in June 2006. When the winning streak started on July 4th, the Rangers were tied with the Angels for the lead in the AL West. As MLB wakes up this morning, Texas has the biggest division lead in the land at 5 games. Homefield advantage for the AL playoffs is also in sight for the Rangers, only 3 games behind the Boston Red Sox for best record in the league.
