1. Lincecum needs another catcher..
his ERA in the 4 starts since Posey was injured is 7.66. And in at least two of those starts Whiteside has allowed pitches to get by him allowing runners to score from third base. They were called WPs on Lincecum, but they were balls that Posey would have blocked. Tim is now afraid to throw his change/split with runners on base, and who can blame him?

Since he hardly ever played, I had no idea Whiteside was this bad. He can't catch, throw, or hit....he may be the worst all around catcher I've ever seen.

2. I read something curious the other day
That the Giants are considering having Sandoval catch a couple of times a week. Is that true? Bizarre if so

3. Bochy mentioned it in a press conference.
And even though the Giants are desperate, I doubt if it will happen.. Sandoval hasn't played the position since 2009 and he's made it quite clear he doesn't want to catch anymore.

Supposedly the Giants checked with the Nationals on the availability of Pudge, but Washington wanted too much in return.

4. Cain, Bumgarner and Vogelsong have had great outings

Lincecum's having mechanical problems -- Mike Krukow surmises he's releasing the ball too high. Tim says it's mental -- he's overthinking.

Granted, Whiteside isn't throwing runners out and his defense isn't great. But he's calling good games baed on the results.
