Do you remember when the college football season ended after January 1st? Do you think college football was better then?

5. Absolutely,
I'm a proponent of scrapping the BCS and returning to the days of conference tie-ins and an entire day of football. Having multiple games with national championship implications, and seeing how the dominoes fall was a lot of fun.

Unlike many American sports fans, I haven't allowed myself to be convinced that championship is somehow invalid without a multiple team single elimination tournament at the conclusion of a regular season.

6. I used to love watching the games then
The Rose Bowl had the Big Ten champ vs the Pac Ten champ

The games also used to be on multiple local channels - not just ESPN. That way more people could actually watch the games. ABC had the Rose Bowl, CBS had the Sugar Bowl and NBC had the Orange Bowl.

7. Yes, on both counts. BCS = Big Crock of Shit
Rest in Peace, SouthWest Conference (the era of Frank Broyles and Darrell Royal. Oh, and BTW, Jerry Jones and Jimmy Johnson played football and roomed together as Razorbacks way back then. Woooooooo Pig! Sooeee!)

11. Hell, I played in a leather helmet in 5th grade
for Larchmont, Toledo, OH. Undefeated and unscored upon that season.

12. Yes and no..
I remember, but football is better now....screw tradition, times change. We just have to get rid of the BCS in favor of some real playoffs.

13. The problem is that there seems to be no definitive end to the college
season.

Wrap it up with a championship on new years day, after a three week playoff like is done in every over college division.
