1. Because baseball writers don't play the game

Hawk had 12 knee surgeries and played the majority of his career in a pitcher friendly and remote park. And he should have gone in as a Cub. Congrats to Andre "the Hawk" Dawson. And to all Chicagoans, Andre was and is the Hawk, not that announcer on the south side of town.
Cub fans will always remember Andre Dawson. Heck, in 1987, the Cubs finished last and probably would have finished in AAA without Dawson.

It's great that he got in. :D It should have happened sooner.
