Source: CU already has Pac-10 invite
With Nebraska apparently headed to the Big Ten, the Pac-10 is poised to become the Pac-16.

Colorado already has received an invitation to join the conference, while five other invitations will be extended to Texas, Texas A&M, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State and Texas Tech, according to a source familiar with the negotiations.

A Big 12 football coach, who spoke on the condition of anonymity, told ESPN.com's Mark Schlabach on Wednesday night that if Nebraska left the Big 12 the conference would dissolve, according to his athletics director and university president. The coach said Texas, Texas A&M, Texas Tech, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State and Colorado would join the Pac-10, leaving Baylor, Kansas, Kansas State, Missouri and Iowa State behind.

4. If ND joins the Big 10 all of your speculation goes down the shitter.
As much as I hate ND, at least it will shut down all of this nonsensical nattering.

ND and the Big 10 with ND's contract would have the wealthiest conference by far. No need to add any other lightweights.

5. BCS
Now the national championship will even be more useless, did you read that the *Pac-16* would try to get 2 BCS bids meaning that the conference can play itself in a national championship?? WTF?

6. Heck if the "Pac-16" is going
to have teams like USC, OU, and Texas..they deserve two BCS bids.

7. Well...
UCLA just beat Arizona in the Softball World Series for the National Championship.

Also it's possible for 2 teams from the same conference to play each other in National Championships in college basketball and baseball.

Just pointing that out. I actually have no clue what post season in college football will look like when expansion is all said and done for this time.

8. I was just pointing out
that the BCS could be even more effed up because of the amount of money that that conference would make and you know there is no National Championship game in college football, just the money hungry BCS people who want to gobble up as much as they can so they put on a game. I mean in the last 10 years how many actual 1&2's legitimately played in the BCS game? I dont know I just think that if the conferences become like this then why not go to a playoff now being the best time because if not then there will be alot more pissed off teams and people

9. I don't see anything wrong with your argument
Like I said, I don't know how things will turn out postseason wise. I do hope with all this, a playoff system comes out of it.

10. If the BCS were a tournament like softball, baseball and basketball
and allowed more teams in, I don't think it would be a big deal to anyone to give the PAC-10 two bids, or if 2 teams from the same conference earned their way to the finals.

11. I agree
I misunderstood. I was thinking "two bids" and "National Championship" meant playoffs. I don't think if they stayed with the current system, they would put two teams from the same conference in a championship game but I can understood another bid for a major bowl game. With all that said, it's not clear to me what the post season will look like but something about it will change.

12. If the big 12 dissolves, there would be one extra "at large" bid available
and the PAC 16 would likely get at least one of those after adding all these quality teams. I'm not sure the SEC and Big 10/whatever it will be, will go for 2 automatic bids to the PAC, though. This does reduce the chances of having an multiple undefeated teams from major conferences though, since there will be one less major conference. Personally, I don't think the ACC and Big East should get automatic bids.

13. Exactly
like in basketball if they play into the championship game through a playoff its fine but if it is selected by people then it will be complete b.s. just like it is now ughhh :wtf:
