Maradona pledges naked victory lap
BUENOS AIRES, Argentina -- Diego Maradona has promised to run naked through the center of Buenos Aires if Argentina wins the World Cup.

The Argentina coach made the promise during a radio show. The unpredictable Maradona was speaking a day after Argentina defeated Canada 5-0 Monday in its final warm-up match before the World Cup.

Argentina plays in Group B, opening against Nigeria on June 12. The Gauchos also face Greece and South Korea.

Oh come on, like I needed another reason to cheer for Argentina.

2. There may actually be someone out there who wants to see Madonna naked
The same can not be said for Diego Maradona.

6. I have no idea what he likes look, but I'd rather see him than Madonna...
...everything sagging and the craters on her face apparent without the right lighting.

4. We'll see if he gets his chance. He's in a very tough group
which is in a tough field of 32.

5. Messi v. Greece?
Argentina should win out in their group (Greece, Nigeria, South Korea)

7. Not easy

And Argentina hasn't been great lately. They fell from #2 or 3 to #7 in about a year. Also, Maradona made some strange picks of players. Showing up isn't enough. The Greeks are very tough (and have something to prove). South Korea (#47) and Nigeria (#21) are usually competitive. I'm sure they'll get out of their group, but it's not the easiest road.

10. My fervent wish for Argentina
is that Diego Milito comes out after halftime, gathers the team together, and says "Forget what the coke monkey said, here's how we're gonna do this."

The raw talent of Argentina is terrifying. They looked impeccable against Canada (yeah, I know, but still). Argentina's biggest hurdle in the World Cup will be Maradona himself. I'm pretty sure the coke has completely fried his brain. How you ignore Cambiasso and Zanetti is beyond me.

11. I'm pretty irritated with Brazil too.
Leaving out Ronaldinho was wrong. It was bad for the team and bad for the game. Yet Dunga needed his revenge. Bullshit.

If anybody doubts that he might actually do this, I offer this as proof.
