The NEW LOOK Denver Broncos are 6-0

Anyone anticipate this?
I didn't, and I've been a Broncos fan since Craig Morton was getting sacked.

Ferocious defense.
Solid, I mean solid Quarterback.
Kyle Freaking Orten is 6-0 and the only pick he's thrown all year was to Randy Moss on a Hail Mary at the end of the half.

If they go to Baltimore and beat the Ravens and go back home and beat the Steelers?

Where is the Super Bowl this year?

Oh, and FUCK YOU Chargers.
Payback, bitch.

1. I'm completely shocked
I've been a Broncos fan for years as well, and figured this season would be a rebuilding year at best.

I wasn't crushed by the Cutler trade--I figured it would actually be one of those trades that would benefit both teams in the long run; but I was expecting it to take a while for the Broncos to turn the corner, and I was skeptical about how the new staff handled some of the offseason issues. Not a lot of skepticism left after tonight's game. :D

2. It's a long year
if the Broncos aren't for real, and I have my doubts, they'll get found out. I wouldn't be talking Super Bowl yet.

Oh, and the Chargers come to Denver in about 3 weeks time....I wouldn't be surprised if they laid a little "payback" on the Broncos

3. Bring it.
The Chargers didn't show me shit tonight.
You know who I'm worried about?

The Chiefs.
At Arrowhead in early December.

That's gonna be fun.

6. The next Super Bowl is at Dolphin Stadium
And the one after that is at Jerryland. The first one ever in DFW. I bet the weather outside will be miserable and that will be the only one ever held there. Just like Minnesota in 1992.

8. This has been awesome
I had them at 4-12 this year with wins over Cleveland, Kansas City, and a sweep of Oakland. I thought they would start 2-1 and then be wiped out by Dallas, New England, and San Diego.

I still don't care for the way things went down during the offseason, but its clear the personnel choices were really for the best. The best offseason acquisition wasn't on the field either...it was Mike Nolan. His defense has been terrific. San Diego was able to move the ball in the first half, as was New England. But they both got run off the field in the second half...which means halftime adjustments were tremendous. That points to great coaching.

As a Broncos fan since I was a little boy with an Orange Crush T-shirt, this has been the most startling year I've witnessed (to this point). I am happy to say I was wrong about McDaniels and Orton has been more than I ever could have hoped.

Last, watching that jerk Rivers have to pick himself up off the ground through the entire second half yesterday was amazing fun. I noticed he was running his mouth like usual during the first half, but he seemed to be awfully quiet in the second half. Any win over Rivers makes me extremely happy, especially when he gets hit...a lot.

9. I argue that Brian Dawkins is one of the best offseason additions by any team in the league
However everything you else is say I agree with for the most part. I was happy to see Cutler leave Denver but that was my personal bias of the situation but I did not expect them to play this well but not the doom and gloom version most people was predicting.

16. I certainly won't argue Dawkins
watching him fly around the field is a pleasure. He and Bailey are still at the top of the game at their positions.

10. Just think how Shannyhan must feel.
Realizing what a crappy coach he was without Elway and Davis.

My opinion of Pat Bowlen has gone up a few notches.

13. In defense of Shanahan
Edited on Tue Oct-20-09 01:17 PM by JonLP24
Denver has had one of the highest in offensive yardage and points under Shannahan's tenure even after Elway, several winning seasons and has the highest winning percentage for any Denver coach except for McDaniels obviously. They had a 9-2 start in 2005 and somewhat fast starts in 03, and 04. Though the thing I notice when looking at the numbers is Denver was 39-15 with Plummer as a starter and 17-20 with Cutler as a starter.

However McDaniels may be a better coach and is one of the newest head coaches under the Billichick coaching tree. I was just addressing the 'crappy' coach aspect of it all.

14. He is a Republican shill too.
That is one of the biggest reasons that I hate Shanny and Elroy. At least Bowlen is more quiet about it.

I was looking at donations and Elway himself donated quite a sum to Tancreado and about $50,000 total to the GOP. :puke:
