1. As a bear's fan
I don't blame him.. The Bears seem to wondering aruond aimlessly in search of a future coach and team to play at an acceptable winning level.. They suck but like being a Cub's fan, there's always next year..

4. oh for christ's sake
the Jets aught to trade for him just to keep him off the Pats.

That's what Steinbrenner would do if he owned the Jets.

8. Maybe
No one is talking at this point, but Bruschi has hired an agent for the first time. I'm not sure what that means but if what you read in the papers is accurate, he sits out next year on the DL so the Pats don't take a salary cap hit then retires.

I'm just repeating what I read today so really your guess is as good as mine.

6. Very interesting
Just curious, do you know who they're bringing in to replace Crenell and Weis (I'm an ND fan). Urlacher would be a nice replacement from Bruschi (someone said below he might retire). He's more athletic, but will need a big DT to be effective. He was a lot more impressive when the Bears had that huge DT (Washington, I think), as that freed him up from the blockers.

7. Not going to happen
from ProFootballTalk:

We received multiple e-mails on Tuesday night from readers who say that Fox Sports New England is reporting that the Chicago Bears could be close to trading linebacker Brian Urlacher to the Patriots, in exchange for the Pats' first-round pick (32nd overall) in next month's draft.

We ran this one by a league source in position to know whether such discussions were occurring, and the source said it's "he stupidest thing I ever heard."

"There is no truth ," the source said, adding that the team
"just redid his contract last year with a huge signing bonus," and "would take a multi-million dollar cap hit" if Urlacher were traded. The source also predicted that team management would "get run out of Chicago" if the organization ever traded Urlacher.

"Somebody has been drinking too many pina coladas on the beach in Maui," the source added, referring to the owners' meetings in Hawaii, where reporters have congregated for some rough duty over the past few days.
