Matt Cain..another Giants Cy Young Award winner ?
The way he's going it's a definite possibility. After Matt's win last night, he stands 12-2 with an ERA of 2.27.

The last time two different pitchers from the same team won in back to back years was Atlanta's Maddux and Smoltz in '95, '96.

1. Dan Haren is still better.

3. We'll see at the end of the year
right now, Haren has a slightly lower ERA, 2.14 to 2.27, but Cain has more wins and, unlike Haren, is doing it for a contender.

2. Atlanta won the WS in 95 and was a divisional champ in 96.
The GiNats were 20 games under in 07.

Guess we really can't compare the GiNats to the Atlanta Braves.

4. I agree.. plus It'll be such a joy to see him team up with Tim in the playoffs!
I cannot believe how well he's been pitching in Denver.

I checked his stats the last time he pitched there on May 7, 2009:

6 INNINGS

0 RUNS

1 HIT

Picked up the W in the Giants' 8-3 victory.

----

One earned run in 13 innings at Denver

0.69 ERA!

5. Yeah, his BA against in Denver is .214, I believe
which is better than any other pitcher there. That's impressive. Maybe they should trade him to the Rockies for a decent hitter. Then maybe the Ngats wouldn't have the worst OBP in baseball, a pathetic .307.
