Charlie Sheen and the Parents of Angus T Jones
How Hollywood protects it's kid actors should really be questioned.

Sure during the years of filming Two and a Half Men, there was
never a recorded incident of abuse by Charlie towards Angus.

Still during the years of filming, (Angus was 10 ten years old)
during the first season, there were many reported incidents of
Charlie's reckless behavior, public drunkenness, cocaine,
Mr Sheen's love of hookers and violence against woman.

Now this may of never affected the filming of Two and a Half men,
but what message does it send to a ten year old child, that adults
will say to this kid, your going to work with this guy for
12 hours a day,six days a week.

Surly the kid is thinking well, my parents and the studio bosses
don't have a problem with me spending my time with this guy so it
must be okay.

Now I don't have kids, but there is no way I would want my
child to work with someone who has so many issues no
matter how much money he or she was bringing in.

The other actors who were are all adults, can make up their
own mind, but this was a child actor (He is now 17) who
could of been put in a dangerous situation if Sheen had
snorted one on the day of filming.

I just think there should be better protection for kid
actors.

If you were a parent of a child actor, would you let them work with Charlie
Sheen?

1. Depends on the kid... I think most children can learn from
both good and BAD examples. If Charlie wasn't manipulating the kid in any way nor trying to introduce him to his many vices, I don't see what, exactly one would be protecting them from. Surely, everyone here was exposed to a "black sheep" member of their wider family--the drunken uncle, the valium-addicted aunt, the gambling and absent grandfather? (I intentionally chose vices that were NOT in my own realm, though others were---LOL)

3. Yes - there were a whole host of 70's child actors where the Charlie Sheen types made them stay away
from that lifestyle

2. His Parent/Gardian Had No Issue....Or The Producers

....So don't BLAME Charlie....Angus has made good money($250k per episode) on the show and I think Angus can either shed his opinion of Charlie or follow it... It will be his choice.

Again dont blame Charlie

6. $250,000 and episode?
That's like $6,000,000 a season times seven or eight seasons.

I would trade places with young Mr. Jones in a heartbeat.

Besides, I've never heard of Sheen doing anything to the kid.

Angus is set for a sweet, cushy life.

I say raise his income taxes up to at least 49%. :)

4. I have had wonderings about the same sort of thing
I guess you can explain to a child actor that what is being depicted on the screen is only prentend, in order to get a laugh, but when the star of the show really lives the lifestyle being mocked on the show, then I guess you have to call it 'publicity'.

It's a tough sell, but I hope Jones' parents can make it.

5. It's a tough call. I'm a parent, raising three, one is 17. She's
seen her share of tough shite. She was born addicted to crack cocaine and removed from her crack hoor mother and paranoid schizophrenic father. She was lucky though, some kids never get taken out their environment. She has a biological brother who was not removed from the home until he was 4 years old. He now lives in a special home for mentally ill children and he's only 15.

Some people no matter how well they're raised will find trouble or trouble will find them. Other people no matter how badly they're raised will be able to focus and parent themselves.

It's all a crap shoot.

7. every report about Sheen on the Two and a Half Men set...
says that when he is working, he is a true professional. He shows up on time, he learns his lines, hits his mark and is congenial to his fellow actors and the crew. He seems to get into trouble when the show is on hiatus. I think he's probably one of those types of addicts who needs to be working just to maintain some semblence of sobriety. Another famous example is Ringo Starr. Despite not having had a major solo hit record in decades, Ringo, who is a recovering alcoholic, still maintains a heavy recording and touring schedule. His records don't sell but because he was a Beatle (and shares in the lucrative earnings the Beatles continue to make), he feels that work keeps the demons at bay. Maybe it is the same for Charlie.
