1. Entirely predictable. The show was too cerebral, too confusing, too slow. By week three...

there really wasn't a good way to pick up following the series even if it had gotten word of mouth audience pull. I really wanted to like that show. But by the 3rd ep I was bored with it. I'm a Mad Man fanatic, so supposedly I was in their target demog. They really needed one of the suits from the studio to interfere with the writers on this one.

3. I will miss it too
I loved that show - it did take a lot of close listening, you had to watch all the episodes and I even watched some of them twice just to catch the stuff I missed. Damn!

4. I do know what you mean
But it kept me curious and engaged. As someone said below, it definitely picked up as it went along. If its repeated as a marathon this summer I'm going to watch it.

I think its detractors would say it was a "watching the paint dry" kind of show in the beginning.

I'm a fan of what's now called "noir". But when I was a kid they were called, "the second feature when eleny fell asleep".
These days I never fall asleep.

P.S. I'm a Mad Men fanatic, too. More of watching people think, no hatchets landing in people's heads to dolby.

5. I loved it because it was cerebral and slow.
But there was something really ominous about it. It was like nothing else I've seen on television. They announced the cancellation a while ago and I said at the time that Rubicon was a little like watching a baseball game....long spells of buildup before the miracles..or, in the case of Rubicon, not miracles but blood-curdling violence.
It's funny, Bucky, but I grumped about it being slow and too cerebral...but I kept tuning in anyway.
And I've never been able to get into Mad Men!
Ah well, chacun a son mauvais gout.

8. Thanks!
It's probably a bit egomaniacal to quote oneself! Oh well. I thought it was pretty accurate too.

10. I haven't seen it--no cable--but the synopsis makes it sound an awful lot like
the 1973 film Days of the Condor.
