Live Action Movie Review: VERSUS
VERSUS

Country of origin: Japan

Genre: Yakuza/Martial Arts/Hyper-Zombie

Story: An escaped prisoner turns on those who were supposed to be his get away ride in a haunted forest. There is a bunch of stuff about reincarnation and fate, but this movie is really about crazy fighting. At one point in the film, the main character summons a katana out of the sky with no explanation. This is not a serious movie.

Acting: I normally suggest watching movies in the original language, but this does not matter for VERSUS.

Humor: The movie occasionally throws in some humor to make fun of itself.

Violence: Hyper violent. Mostly from pistols, fist fighting, and swords.

Sex: No sex, no nudity.

Overall: VERSUS is fun and extremely fast paced. It is two hours of a guy running around in a forest shooting at bad guys, getting into fist fights with bad guys, battling hyper-zombies, and sword fighting a super villain. Sometimes the viewer is treated to scenes of a samurai battling zombies in the same forest 500 years in the past. This is not a serious action movie, it is an over the top extremely violent and silly action movie, but it is not a comedy. I highly suggest VERSUS to anyone who loves Hyper violent non serious movies. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fRfhuVlbM-4">Trailer

2. Because the violence is awesome. Violent movies are not like football games,
where people actually get hurt. Violent movies are make believe.
