watched a creepy movie on Halloween that left me scarred
"Ginger Snaps"

I wanted to run out of the room but I couldn't look away

so damn creepy I can't get it out of my head.

there is no way to un-see a movie.

Up until then I always thought "Henry (portrait of a serial killer)" was the creepiest movie ever.

"Ginger Snaps" tops it.

2. The little sister was something else, huh.

She held that look of disbelief, horror, and disgust for the whole flick.

4. Curiously, I've never seen the original, but I have seen the two
sequels - was the original 'R' rated, and can't be shown on TV without chopping it up too much to make any sense of it?

6. sort of a classic werewolf tale turned upside down
murder and sex, with lots of blood.

sweet young girls do very bad things.

9. A great Canadian horror film.
Edited on Fri Nov-06-09 08:14 AM by Andy Canuck
That is so Canadian, saying it is Canadian, its like the Swedish always reminding you that they invented tetra packs. Oh well, when you are a little country you gotta promote what you've got.

Ginger Snaps is really about the voracious transition from girl to woman and the impact of hormones and in particular menstruation. She becomes ravenously boy hungry (literally) after her period starts, that is why there s so much blood in the film, it is the over riding metaphor.
