Dollhouse -really picking up steam
If anyone else stuck it out past the first six episodes, then you know what I mean.

Friday's episode was possibly the best yet, and was classic Whedon. I won't post spoilers, but at ten minutes before the end I was saying "Holy Shit!" over and over. The whole analogy of Briar Rose was great as well.

Definitely a series to keep an eye on and hope Fox doesn't kill off, like they do with nearly all their good shows.

1. I'm pretty sure they've already cancelled it.

They're only going to air 12 of the 14 episodes they filmed.

Too bad. It seems like they would make a lot more money if they would just stick with a Joss Whedon show instead of developing a new one every two or three years.

5. Actually that report is mistaken.
Joss put out a statement clarifying it. Saying Fox ordered 13 episodes. They didn't like the original pilot and it was redone. The parts of the pilot was then used in other episodes. Then for the dvd MGM need 1 more episode so they filmed a stand alone episode, which Fox may decide to air. No decision has been made on whether it gets picked up yet though.

I do agree with the OP. It is really picking up steam now. Last weeks episode left you with your mouth hanging open.

2. What happened ten minutes before the end?
You mean the doofus turning out to be...? I'm pretty sure that wasn't my reaction.

3. Something's got to change...
Good smart shows (with complex story arcs) are not making it. I'm really sad that Kings and Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles have also been cancelled.

Hopefully, with digital distribution... TV content will become more like books... and the broadcasters and advertisers will play less of a role in dictating worthy content.

Look at the lame stuff that makes up the top 20 primetime network shows for 2008-2009...

1) American Idol - Wed
2) American Idol - Tues
3) Dancing with the Stars
4) CSI
5) Dancing with the Stars (results show)
6) NCIS
7) Sunday Night Football (NBC)
8) The Mentalist
9) 60 Minutes
10) Desperate Housewives
11) Criminal Minds
12) Two and a Half Men
13) CSI: Miami
14) Greys Anatomy
15) CSI: NY
16) Without a Trace
17) Survivor
18) Cold Case
19) Eleventh Hour
20) The Bachelor

And, for cable?

1) WWE Raw
2) WWE Raw
3) iCarly
4) NCIS
5) Spongebob
6) Spongebob
7) NCIS
8) NCIS
9) The O'Reilly Factor
10) Penguins of Madagascar
11) NCIS
12) NCIS
13) NCIS
