Note: nearly ten percent of recounts in Maine from 1980--2000 resulted in overturning the election:

Only 4 percent of 1,860 legislative elections between 1980 and 2000 were recounted, Flynn said. Of those 75 recounts, only seven victories were overturned.

2. I saw that. Maybe the author
didn't want to shake our confidence in the election system. :eyes:
