Does not compute: Board of Elections needs to fix glitch in new voting machines

Tuesday, July 6th 2010, 4:00 AM

A dangerous glitch in New York's new electronic voting machines could disqualify thousands of ballots this fall.

It is, outrageously, a glitch by design.

-snip-

The politically appointed hacks on the state Board of Elections have found a way to let voters cast invalid ballots.

How could that be? By letting votes that mistakenly choose multiple candidates for the same office be cast. And when they're cast, they're not counted.

This is idiotic. The clunky old lever voting machines New Yorkers have used for decades make it physically impossible to choose two candidates for a single office. As it should be.

-snip-

But that would make too much sense.

1. If it ain't broken, don't fix it
I've used lever machines since 1968. I've also now used optical scanners and touch screens in Florida. These rulings are leftover from the BUSH Administration.

LEVER MACHINES!!!!!:kick:

Many many ballots were not counted then because too many candidates were selected on those punch card ballots.

After 10 years and billions of dollars, we are still going backwards?

That ought to make the republicans VERY happy this year. How can they lose?

4. You'd think NYVV and Bo Lipari would be screaming about this.
And you'd be wrong.

Where the heck are they?
