Why haven't the Democrats shouted out loud about
the madness of voting machines without a paper trail? Is it because they fear people won't bother to vote if they do that?

And, I've never heard anyone from the UN talk about this? I can't imagine that such voting machines satisfy the UN's standard?

2. Yes, it tells me that DUers in general agree with me
about the craziness of paperless voting machines (I'm Norwegian, and in this country, imperfect as it is, no one would even suggest unverifiable elections!). But I don't understand how the US can have such machines, without normally sensible people like the Dems and the UN shouting out loud about it?

3. Join the club. I've been wondering this for 6 years.
When I saw the results of the GA election in 02 (after following the pre-election polls) and then found out that the results came on completely unverifiable touch screen machines, programmed and maintained by private companies, I could believe it. I thought the journalists would be on that election like bulldogs and that they'd find out how such a crazy notion could ever be adopted by a state, no matter how crazy the politicians in that state.

Now it's many states that have gone crazy, altho a few are beginning to come to their senses. Watching the election system in the US is like visiting an asylum where the patients run the place.
