Palast: Kerry Won--just count the ballots at the back of the bus
Greg Palast has a new article!
http://www.gregpalast.com /
KERRY WON OHIO
JUST COUNT THE BALLOTS AT THE BACK OF THE BUS

<snip>

"This is the first time in four decades that a political party has systematically barred -- in this case successfully -- hundreds of thousands of Black voters from access to the voting booth. While investigating for BBC Television, we obtained three dozen of the Republican Party's confidential "caging" lists, their title for spreadsheets listing names and addresses of voters they intended to block on any pretext.

We found that every single address of the thousands on these Republican hit lists was located in Black-majority precincts. You might find that nasty and racist. It may also be a crime.
But that didn't stop the Republicans of '04. Their legally questionable mass challenge to Black voters is not some low-level dirty tricks operation of local party hacks. Emails we obtained show the lists were copied directly to the Republican National Committee's chief of research and to the director of a state campaign."

1. Wow. amazing! Redlining, seems to me. Illegal?
redlining i think is illegal.

palast is a national treasure, along with Moore and Mike Malloy and Kucinich. Four good ones to fill supreme court vacancies.

Connecting the repukes to a federal crime? Isn't this the key?

(and it's horrible)

8. Hi, again, rockedthevoteinMA! I don't know, sweetie! That's what's
bothering me! Look how many things this Chimp gets away with! They'll probably get to the high ranking Repuketards, but probably won't make it to the WH! These people escape everything! Damn it's discouraging! We probably would have to prove the Chimp knew about the lists, I guess?

10. we need to find out
Edited on Fri Nov-12-04 08:21 PM by rockedthevoteinMA
EVERYTHING we possibly can about Blackwell - don't you think? Find out when he was in DC, who he was tight with...although I'm sure that Palast is on top of this. The whole thing about * stopping in OH the day of the election is puzzling - he had a meeting with Blackwell that day.

Oops! Hi Texaschick!

11. Right on! Oh, this is getting exciting! Don't you also think that
finding out who made the Homeland Security/FBI call to that precinct, can't remember the name, would also be good? I think that could very well lead to a whistleblower if that person was discovered and arrested!

13. Would their voters care?
These words chilled me:

Donna Britt page 2
Why aren't more Americans exercised about this issue? Maybe the problem is who's being disenfranchised -- usually poor and minority voters. In a recent poll of black and white adults by Harvard University professor Michael Dawson, 37 percent of white respondents said that widely publicized reports of attempts to prevent blacks from voting in the 2000 election were a Democratic "fabrication." More disturbingly, nearly one-quarter of whites surveyed said that if such attempts were made, they either were "not a problem" (9 percent) or "not so big a problem" (13 percent)

Excuse me?

9. baldearg, this is what I'm thinking too. They will definitely have to
prove that the Chimp knew about these lists, etc. I think also the key would be to find out who was behind the Homeland Security and FBI call too! That could very well lead to a whistleblower!

5. Great article - tells what happened in Ohio!
Go Greg Palast!!

<< NEW MEXICO GOES KERRY - BUT WHO'S COUNTING?

Why single out Ohio? So it also went in New Mexico where ballots of Hispanic voters (two-to-one Kerry supporters) spoil at a rate five times that of white voters. Add in the astounding 13,000 provisional ballots in the Enchanted State -- handed out "like candy" to Hispanic, not white, voters according to a director of the Catholic Church's get-out-the-vote drive -- and Kerry wins New Mexico. Just count up the votes … but that won't happen. >>

12. so much evidence and yet....
it is written off to conspiracy theory.

Remember this;It is the liberal party that usually brings about change in America. This is no different.we will continue to fight for the thousands maybe millions of disenfranchised voters and the antiquated voting process itself until changes happen.

Keep your chins up my friends. We are up to the challenge and we can make a difference!!

39. Why aren't ANY of our Democrats doing something?
The only thing I have found is the Indiana Democratic Party asked for a recount for one of its congressioal candidates:

Baron Hill in Indiana has asked for a recount

Recount changes one Franklin Co. (Indiana) race

(and state Dem party asks for recount in Congressional race, downthread) Link: http://www.indystar.com/articles/1/194120-5851-092.html

Otherwise, except for Conyers, Nadler, and a small handful of others: SILENCE.

Ken Blackwell will be found guilty of election fraud, be sent to prison and end up sharing a cell with a disenfranchised voter .

25. I called the NAACP 24 hour hotline, and the message said
that the IRS began legal action against their organization very recently, like a week or two ago. It seems that this is just getting dirtier and dirtier by the second. Who thinks it's just coincidence that the IRS picked sElection 2004 to tie up NAACP lawyers with tax issues??? I feel sick again.
