Rush Holt introduces: HOUSE Paper Ballot Bill

Things are happening fast!

Congressman Rush Holt (D-NJ) has now introduced HR 6187, The "Confidence in Voting Act of 2006," a companion to the measure introduced by Senators Boxer, Dodd and Feingold in the Senate. It would allow all States that do not already use optical scan or other paper ballot-based voting systems to opt in to a program for this November's election whereby they would be reimbursed for giving voters the right to cast their votes on paper ballots at their request.

1. I wish he were the incumbent senator from New Jersey

Holt was one of Corzine's possible choices and I'm convinced he would be in much better shape than Menendez is now. Many sharp posters from New Jersey warned before Corzine made the pick that Menendez was by far the weakest in terms of a general election.

Voting is Holt's pet issue and just imagine how high profile it could have been in the senate.
