With your help over the last 35 years, Common Cause has led successful efforts for campaign finance reforms, and improved ethics and accountability in government at all levels. We joined with powerful coalitions fighting for civil rights legislation, ending wasteful weapons programs, and working for reforms to our nation's system of voting.

As we update our agenda now, we'd like your feedback. Please take our online poll and post your comments on our blog telling us: What should be added to the Common Cause agenda? Revised? Tell us your ideas about the best ways for us to advocate for change at the federal, state and local level.

Right now, we are committed to working on several major issues:

• Increasing the diversity of voices and ownership in media and making media more responsive to the needs of citizens, and protecting the editorial independence of public broadcasting.
  
• Advancing campaign reforms that make people and ideas more important than money.
  
• Making certain that government is open, ethical and accountable.
  
• Removing barriers to voting and ensuring that our voting systems are accurate and accessible.
  
• Making certain that our government is held accountable for the costs, in lives and money, for the invasion of Iraq.
