Glad I'm Old!

I've never been happier that I'm old! Actuarily, I have maybe 30 years left, but since I have various health related problems, that could be 20 or even 10.

Ten years too much IMHO. Watching this whole thing gives me a gleeful hope that the ones who MADE this shitpile are gonna have to LIVE in their own stink! I'm checking out. Eventually.

Maybe I'll take up smoking, or skydiving. Cancer runs in my family... maybe a lump will show up, or a cough... I *was* gonna start exercising again, but fuck it!

I've said it before and I'll say it again... where's von Stauffenberg when we need him?

2. There was an old man I used to talk to at the laundromat
He loathed Bush. He was a real unconventional sort; I never had the courage to ask him what he was doing in the sixties, but I'd bet making trouble, and he never stopped. He went a good bit further into conspiracy theories that I do, but he never stopped using his brain or saying exactly what he thought.

In early 2003, he said that I was the one he felt for (at 37, I was the youngest person in the laundromat discussion that morning by about two decades). I'd have to live with what Bush had done and would continue to do to the country. He wouldn't.

Sadly, I can't spend tonight talking with him about the election and the state of the country; he died in August 2003. At least his going was not existence proving: he simply fell asleep in his chair and never woke up.

Sorry you didn't make it to see this, my friend. You'd love the high drama of it, and I'd love to hear what you would've had to say to the pundits (it would've been far more interesting than what they have to say in the first place). I'm sure that if consciousness survives the body, you're loudly involved in tonight's happenings.

4. Why Don't I Care About My Kid?
*chuckle*

Simple.

The little bastard's a REPUKE!

He's right wing, told me once the Indians deserved to lose the country because they didn't have enough guns or guts to take it back. He's "having fun" in Iraq (his wife's words) and they're both born-agains.

So no, I don't fucking CARE what happens to him! He was RAISED to understand that he could do anything he wanted, BUT that every action has CONSEQUENCES. And BROTHER is he gonna get them!

He lives in texas, he and his wife are homeschooling, he thinks I'm no better than a Commie faggot pinko LIE-brawl, etc etc etc.. so, *shrug* let HIM live in the future! Welcome to it!

Inheritance? WHAT inheritance? Hippies don't HAVE money, remember? I'm willing it all to PETA, ACLU, NOW and every OTHER acronym he hates! HA!

5. Hey Unperson, I don't have kids thank goodness, but it must hurt like hell
to have one go that way. I can't imagine. And I don't blame you one tiny bit for willing your legacy to those who really deserve it. I would do the same.

And I totally believe in cause and effect. What he's sending around will come around. Sadly I think alot of the people who make the worst causes don't have the slightest clue that they caused the awful effects, when those results come. Takes alot of lifetimes.
Gee, we all were probably asshats in other lives ourselves. Boy I hate to think of myself as acting like some totally selfish repuke... ugh.

6. I've got one too
that is working his butt off on night shift at a plant and wants to blow a paycheck on a D!#% assault rifle. Must have been too soft on him when he was younger. He is now going to one of those fundie churches, cut his hair, and acting like a freeper. Did get him to register to vote but his probably going to waste it on *! x(

14. the irony...Assault rifle/fundie church.

the stress is getting to me. Just watched a History channel program about Stalin. The people he sent to the gulags reverred him. The power of myth. Murderers who put on a good image are idolized by their victims.

8. Another grateful childless 50's something
I just wish that our expat friends in other countries would pool their resources and open some refugee camps for those of us who could never gain immigration permits to Canada or Europe due to our age and lack of in-demand professional status.

11. The Shitstorm is coming
Environmental, economic, and energy...we will see the perfect storm. The credit cards will come due, Mother Nature gets some revenge, and the lack of oil and gas puts a major crimp in our lifestyle.

Watch out below!!!!!!!!!!

12. I feel just like you sometimes but I'm afraid for the children
They may live in a third world country right here in America. No middle class, no heath care, only minimum wage jobs, fighting each other for scraps thrown to them from the wealthy, being cannon fodder for their wars.

There was so much hope in 2000 with the surplus and coming out of record growth. Hope Kerry wins so we can stop the progress to road warrior type living.
