An email I just got regarding Barbara Boxer.

1/6/2005 3:08:33 AM Eastern Standard Time

Dear Clint,

I'm sending this email only to California signers of our petition to Contest The Vote because urgent action is needed...

On Thursday, January 6th both houses will meet to confirm the electors for the 2004 presidential election. There are reports circulating as I write this that as many as 6 senators have agreed to stand up with members of congress and contest the election!!!

In less than 4 weeks, ContestTheVote.org members have signed over 30,000 signatures to our petitions and delivered them to all 100 senators! That's completely amazing. As citizens, we can take our country back! I know you have done so much already, but in the next 24 hours we can change the course of history!

Tonight, I received a plea from an attorney working with David Cobb. For those who don't know, it was David Cobb, Green party presidential candidate who demanded and funded the recount in Ohio. Blair Bobier, Esq, wrote to me asking that I work any folks I know from California because of a breaking development...

It seems that our petition drive, as well as the actions of other groups, are making an impact because ... drum roll please ... Senator Barbara Boxer has indicated that she may challenge Ohio's Electoral College votes tomorrow, January 6, when Congress receives the votes from all states!

He went on to say, "Please forward this to Californians who support the democratic process and ask them to contact Senator Boxer to support a challenge."

Please, right now, call, fax or email Senator Barbara Boxer and let her know that you support her in her effort to Contest The Vote!

Phone: 202.224.3553 (DC)
Fax: 415.956.6701 (SF--no DC number is listed)
for email, go to: http://boxer.senate.gov/contact/webform.cfm

It is especially important that she hear from Californians. Please pass this on to every like minded person you know ASAP... We only have hours left...

Thanks for all you have done, and for all you are about to do...

Sincerely,

Rick Hall

3. I heard David Cobb on the radio today
Very impressive guy. He says we are seeing the next wave of voting reform. Of course, being a Green, he talked about Instant Runoff Voting. I hope he is right!

In case you can't get through at her D.C. office, try her L.A. office. I got through right away there.

7. Thanks. i just emailed her even though I'm from Indiana.
I also emailed Byrd. I will be calling as soon as I get up tomorrow a long list of senators. I am going to bed now and will be praying and meditating in my sleep for democracy to prevail.

8. Done! Here's a copy of the e-mail I just sent her....
Dear Sen. Boxer,
This is a follow-up to my call to your L.A. office yesterday. I would like to ask you once again to join Rep. Conyers and his supporters in challenging the electoral vote. I think the documentation he will present from Ohio alone will reveal so many irregularities that voter intent (i.e. who really won the election) simply cannot be determined, and a similar case could also be made for Florida and New Mexico.

It is vitally important to all American voters that a Senator stands up for our interests tomorrow, and it would be a great honor (to you AND the state of California) if it could be a Senator from California!

Thank you for your consideration.

Sincerely,
xxxxx

10. here's the email I sent...
Figured others are sending details so I went for a more emotional approach.

Senator Boxer,

As I am sure you are well aware of, many are calling upon you today, January 6th, to make a stand with Representative Conyers in contesting Ohio's election. I want you to know that I, along with countless other Californians and Americans who believe in the preservation of the integrity of our Democracy, will stand with you when you make this historic decision.

Understand that I have voted in two presidential elections, and each were rife with irregularities and voter suppression. At least one of them led to the wrong outcome. Millions of young democrats have had this demoralizing experience, and now is the time to answer the call to put our democracy to the test and give faith to these young democrats who may lose faith in America entirely, let alone the democratic party.

If you stand, your courage will inspire others to stand, and together you will change our democracy for the better.

Sincerly,

XXXXX
