Why not offer a reward?
I saw a notice somewhere on the web a week or two ago that someone was offering a 200K reward for verifiable evidence of election fraud. I thought this was a great idea, but the reward in question was poorly publicized and probably not enough money to encourage a true whistle-blower to come forward.

I posted this letter once before as a response under a different thread. It doesn't necessarily have to be Larry Flint who does something like this, but I think a big cash reward offered by a high profile person could bring some interesting results.

PS. Sorry if someone has proposed this before.

Dear Mr. Flynt,

You are a personal hero of mine. Not only are you one of America’s greatest advocates of Free Speech, the reward you offered for evidence of extra-marital affairs by members of Congress (revealing their hypocrisy) saved the Clinton Presidency. I am writing to you because I believe that there is once again an opportunity where your intervention could possibly make a huge difference.

As I am sure you are well aware, there are ongoing allegations that there was electronic voter fraud in the last election. Most disturbing is the fact that the exit polls so poorly correlated to the final election results (much of which was tabulated by un-auditable electronic voting machines). Although exit polling is not 100% reliable, the odds of President Bush gaining a large advantage over every exit poll in key swing states is an extremely improbable coincidence. While Congressman Conyers (and others) are doing their best to investigate this matter, they have yet to find concrete evidence of fraud.

It is said that if you want to catch a rat, you need some cheese. In this case the cheese could be a very large cash reward offered by you to anyone who comes forward with unequivocal evidence that systematic electronic election fraud did take place. Although there is no guarantee that such a reward would produce results, it would at the very least raise media attention to the matter.

Thank you for your time and consideration in this matter. Keep up the great work!

Sincerely,

Ryder911

1. Why should we offer a reward?
As soon as you offer a reward, the source will be scutinized intead oft he evidence.

Isn't a free and honest election reward enough?

2. Reward shouldn't be necessary; widespread fraud is documented; just
needs to be followed up on by "authorities" or whoever.

5. What authorities?
It will take a hundred "kids" sitting in the room with laptops against the best voting machines, that will somehow show the world how easily we can be duped into believing that computer generated voting, without traceable records is ever going to be honest!

3. No, a free an honest election is not enough.
Edited on Sun Jan-02-05 03:51 PM by Ryder911
If I were a software engineer of questionable moral integrity who was paid very handsomely to write embedded code in election machines, "a free and honest election" would mean nothing to me. For one, I have nothing to gain by coming forward, and for another, even if I felt that way I could potentially be criminally prosecuted for my actions.

If, on the other hand, a couple of million dollar reward was offered plus immunity from prosecution, I think I would be very tempted.

8. Plus immunity?
Offering a reward is something anyone can do, but it does not imply that the person who accepts the reward won't be either arrested for breaking the law, or end up dead.

Besides, what's a couple of million to these people? Chump change.

4. Justice Through Music Posted The Reward
Justice Through Music, www.jtmp.org, posted a $100,000 eward within days of the election and a week later increased it to $200,000. JTM sent emails to lots of people at the major vote machine companies and had numerous press releases about it. JTM has had hundreds of people send in info and found Clint Curtis, the programmer who wrote a vote rigging prototype for Republican Congressman Tom Feeney. see www.bradblog.com for the full story there. It would be nice to have a million to add to JTM's reward.
