Or do we have to wait until January sales?

5. It needs to be organized top down.
We would need the DNC to organize labor. I don't think they will do it. Would be awesome though.

12. Why don't we try something...new. Like - "from the middle out".
Top down, well as you say. Bottom-up has its appeal. But what say we try a new approach like from the middle out. Who knows, it just might work.

6. It needs to be GLOBAL...
Stop feeding the Beast. Hit 'em where it hurts the most. A rich man's biggest fear is to lose his riches.

7. Good idea. If we did that repeatedly we would control the world.
I like the way you think. :)

9. remember "it's the economy, stupid"?
Now, it should be "it's the GLOBAL economy, stupid".

We can do it. There comes a time when we need to let go of our material desires. My great great grand parents survived the horrors of the "Great Depression" by living an independent lifestyle. As long as we're self-sustaining, we can succeed in this global boycott.

11. No Conjones
People now clearly lack the fortitude for this. Too much narrow-minded self interest. Our only hope for something like this is that
the shrub takes this country so far down that the people erupt.
That's my prediction.

13. Past time
We don't have to wait. A general strike through Christmas shopping season would really make them notice.

14. The week before Xmas will do it
I pledge to buy NO xmas presents except from 2nd hand stores, thrift shops or locally owned mom and pop businesses...

Imagine if the 50 some million folks who voted for Kerry did the same.

The only problem - with this is that most Americans are out of work - and this will only lead to furhter outsourcing
