What's next for Kerry?
It occurred to me that he's still in the Senate... I think. Howzabout that? I don't think he's going to disappear into the woodwork. I hope not.

1. Kerry will stay in the Senate. What's next for Edwards?
I'm curious about what will happen for Edwards next.

Kerry talking about unity makes me think he will try to be bipartisan - but I sure hope that isn't the case.

5. Edwards ...
..couldn't even win his home state of North Carolina (my state). I knew we should have stuck with Dean.

8. Edwards is headed back to the courtrooms for lawsuits
Kerry will be reelected as a senator ( sort of like Ohio's John Glenn back in 1984. )
A permanent fixture until he retirees

9. Then the whole country would be red except
CA, OR, WA, NY if Dean ran. It was all about the Christian Fundies and the gay issue. Dean would have done really well against that. We had a great candidate. Knock it off with the Candidate remorse.

2. Kerry Move -- Up in the Senate?
Anybody think his relatively quick "concession" and all that "unity" stuff was playing to get a shot at Senate Minority Leader? They will need somebody in there who can at least "get along" with * & Co.

6. you dont need to get along with them
it garners nothing. no concession, no cooperation. they take what they want. we need a strong opposition party now, and a strong opposition leader.

Think, Prime Ministers answer time. Does the Conservative stand up and 'get along' with Blair? NO he opposes, vigerously.

12. Ignoring all these folks who are blaming Kerry instead of the Rethugs
that sounds like a great idea to me. I'll support that.

15. A crazy thought
If Shrubbie is truly serious about reaching out to those of us who don't support him (suspend your disbelief for a moment, we all are convinced on the evidence that he has no intention of actually doing so)...

How about firing Rummy and replacing him with John Kerry.

(And while we're dreaming, give Edwards Asscrap's job...)

When thinking of this horrible administration and their twisted plans, I'm reminded of Juan Cole's comment on Osama's plan to unite the Arab world under vintage Middle-Ages Islam:

(paraphrased)

It's a crackpot idea and will fail, but the problem is that such crackpot ideas often cause a lot of damage along the way (c.f. the Khmer Rouge in Cambodia).

16. in the senate...
can he do anything to bring this corrupt regime down? I mean he is a former prosecuter...does it have to be a majority? like the whole Clinton deal?

I think he did a great job..we were robbed and he can't prove it...

His speech brought me to tears..he is classy and gracious

17. I'm sort of hoping that he becomes the "opposition leader" and
gets out there on EVERY bill that comes up and turns it into a campaign!
Because we simply MUST fight this bastard before the midterms. We MUST NOT repeat what happened before the 2002 midterms when Dems caved over and over again....
