How do we save the world?

I have been crying all night.


I'm ashamed of myself.


Yesterday the American people voted.


The American people voted in favor of racism.
In favor of judges who set rapists free, saying "she shouldn't have been dressed like that."
In favor of polluters.
In favor of child abusers.
In favor of war, war, hatred, and war, the "endless war" that neoconservatives have always longed for.


They voted because they believed lies. They believed that Bush is a good man, that Kerry is a "flip-flopper." Bush's campaign was based entirely upon lies, and good people went and voted for the worst evil facing our world today.


This is what happens when the president tells them that black is white, war is peace, freedom is slavery.


This is what happens when a compliant media does not stand up for the truth.


I'm ashamed of myself.


What did I do to prevent this? Did I, ThatPoetGuy, work as hard as I could have, to make sure people know the truth? Could I have done more?


I know what the answer is, and I'm ashamed of myself.


Yesterday, the American people chose evil over good. I could have done more to stop it.


I'm ashamed of myself.
