We've set up a DU Fantasy Premier League
Edited on Mon Jul-31-06 12:57 PM by Thankfully_in_Britai
Yes I know that it seems like only yesterday that the World Cup ended but the Championship and the lower leagues open their season on Saturday, and it's not too long before the Premier League starts either!

To that we have created a DU Fantasy Premier league for you so that you can create your own team, make transfers and try to beat the rest of us! :bounce:

To join go to http://fantasy.premierleague.com/index.html sign up and create your team, click on leagues and type (or cut & paste!) 59073-54733 into the box in order to join! :-)

And if you want to share your thoughts on whether Chelski can be stopped, whether Neil Warnock will make a fool of himself (highly probable!) or anything else now's as good a time as any!

7. I've never done this before.

So just call me sucker, I guess.

I started a team and joined the DU league. I dont know who half of the players on my team are. I guess this is going to enhance my viewing experience, eh? I only really started taking it seriously at the end of last season. I dont get many games on television, but I do have Sirius sataellite radio and they play Premiership games. And since the World Cup, Ive bookmarked a ton of soccer websites.

Im pretty excited.

8. If you need any help
You can always ask. I've just had to re-arrange my own team actually after Dean Ashton broke his ankle. Fortunately I can remember Fulham's Brian McBride being quite a good acquisition last year so at least I was able to replace him easily.

9. I thought you couldn't replace players..
I assume you can only do that when a player gets injured?

12. You can make transfers
Edited on Fri Aug-18-06 12:12 PM by Thankfully_in_Britai
When you log in you can click on "Transfers" on the top right of the screen underneath "My Team" and "Latest Points" and make changes as appropriate. You can make unlimited changes up to 11:30 GMT tomorrow and after that you have to make transfers during the correct transfer windows or risk losing points.

Plus which you have to keep within the £100 million budget as well of course.

13. I saw that
Edited on Fri Aug-18-06 06:25 PM by Kire
I think my team is pretty good now. Thanks.

So what makes it a league, though? Can you transfer between teams on the league, or is it like it is now that you can just pick whomever you want from a list?

Is it a league just because we will eventually be able to see each other's teams, or is there more to it?

14. You will be able to see each others teams
When the season starts in a few hours time. Until them the programme likes to keep things under wraps in case everyone else ends up picking the same players and you end up with a league where everyone has Darren Bent, Jamie Carracher, Tim Cahill and Morton Gamst Pedersen in their teams!

15. So how did everybody do on their first day?
Edited on Sat Aug-19-06 05:12 PM by Kire
I'm second to last in both leagues I am a part of

What really hurts is I had Zamora (12 points) and McCulloch (7 points) out as substitutes.

Tomorrow Chelsea plays and I've got Terry, Drogba and Essien so I should catch up a little bit.

16. This is weird
I put Zamora back on the field and suddenly his 12 points count now. Apparently, I went from second to last to second to first, now.

Can you tell I have no idea what I'm doing?

17. Automatic substitutions
As Rommedahl didn't play the system automatically subbed him for Zamora, who did play and scored two goals. Automatic substitutions only come into effect after all the games have been played for that week.
