So how do Canadians feel about the Lockout ?
just curious about how our neighbors to the north feel.

1. It sucks
Personally, though I thinks it's the owners fault, or a few owner's fault, all it takes is one prick to pay huge salaries. That's why a cap is needed

I mean, without a cap, SOMEONE is going to pay them, if not you. And if you're not paying them, they're not playing for you and your team isn't going to get better, meaning your fans aren't going to show up, meaning you've got no chance of generating more revenue, meaning you've turned into the Carolina Hurricanes and will never be good (one fluke season aside).

They need a cap to save them from themselves. Players should agree to a cap that is tied to a percentage of the average annual revenue of the NHL franchises. That way if the league does well, there's plenty of room to pay everyone what they deserve, while not committing suicide with extremely high wages.

3. unfortunately the owners seem to have planned well ahead
for this event and are prepared to take some wallet pain while the players are mostly financially unprepared to weather the situation without negotiating some kind of compromise.
