Wisconsin Protests on the 19th. Any?
I'm reading in GD about nationwide protests on the anniversary of Iraq-Nam on March 19th. Does anyone have information about any in our state? Especially Milwaukee area...

Thanks

1. have you visited the UFP&J website?
That gets a lot of state calendar listings. I wish more people used it. We need a central place to go to.

13. Hope the protest continues on to the square/StateSt/campus
or I doubt there will be a big turnout, and nobody will be around that area to join in. Seems dumb to have it there, in terms of having an influence and raising awareness in the community...

4. Peace Action's rally is at noon, at the east end of Wisconsin Avenue...

...near the orange sunburst sculpture. And it's timed so that you can get to the aforementioned Candlelight Conference in Wauwatosa afterward.

8. Hey RL.
I won't make it to the Peace Action rally cuz I'm going to the county party convention that day, but I'll probably get to the Candlelight event later. See you there?

5. Info On The Appleton Vigil
From the Fox Valley Liberals mailings...

"Hi Everyone,

This has been an interesting week. After we announced
our intent to mark the Anniversary of the Iraq War
with a candlelit vigil/video, we received word from
the Peace Coalition that they have been planning a
large rally/peace concert for the same day. We then
explored the possibility of coordinating both groups
events. Unfortunately, it seems coordination is not
possible at this time. However, The Peace Coalition
has extended an invitation to the Fox Valley Liberals
to come to their event. We will post the schedule
for the Peace Coalition event, please attend in
support of their efforts. Hopefully, this will
encourage other group activities.

We do not wish to any way detract from what the
Coalition has planned!!! To accomodate the others
cause/event, we will be rescheduling our video and the
candlelit vigil For Our Fallen Loved Ones to Memorial
Day evening. The event will NOT be a protest. We will
focus on honoring the sacrifice of those who have
served in the Iraq war, while still getting the truth
out about the war. If there are any questions or
concerns please feel free to contact me at
920-831-0611.

We need members feedback by Thursday, as to a good
venue site. Most Parks & Pavilions need to be
reserved a minimum 45 days in advance. Please take a
moment to respond with your suggestions. Keep in mind,
we want a central location, and community visibility
for the event."

also...

.........................

The Peace coaliton is sponsoring a peace rally/concert
to mark the Anniversary of the start of the Iraq War.
The Fox Valley Liberals are invited to come. The
peace rally is on Saturday, March 19th from 11am to
1pm on the corner of Richmond St and College Ave.
Following the rally a concert will be held at Harmony
Cafe 12 till 2pm.
Hope to see everyone there...
