State GOP looking to repeal comprehensive sex ed law.
http://www.jsonline.com/news/statepolitics/bill-would-allow-the-return-of-abstinenceonly-sex-education-in-schools-132153708.html

Schools could again teach abstinence-only courses under a bill moving through the Legislature that would also require any sex education courses to promote marriage.

A law approved last year when Democrats controlled state government requires sex education courses in public schools to be age appropriate and comprehensive, covering issues like sexually transmitted diseases and how to use birth control. Under that law, schools can choose not to offer sex education, but they cannot offer abstinence-only courses, as they previously could.

Now, Republicans run the Legislature and they hope to pass a bill that would repeal many of the aspects of the law and allow local school districts to set up abstinence-only programs. A hearing on the bill is scheduled for noon Wednesday before the Senate Education Committee.

Senate Majority Leader Scott Fitzgerald (R-Juneau) and bill author Sen. Mary Lazich (R-New Berlin) said they expected the measure to pass the Senate. Assembly Speaker Jeff Fitzgerald (R-Horicon) said Republicans in his house have not yet discussed it.

I enjoy life so much better when the state legislature is not in session...sleep better anyway.

What we have here ladies and gentlemen is government by AM talk radio.

2. Jesus, that's depressing
I agree with Sabien: what next? It never ends.

When did the Rust Belt become the Bible Belt?

And what do you call a graduate of abstinence-only sex ed? A teen parent!

3. Pam Galloway the bill's author
Our dear Pammie is also an author of this bill. And she is a doctor. You would think she would have more intelligence. Sex ed should start in middle school.
