Stay off the ice!
I don't know why people rush to get out on the ice.It happens every year, someone goes out on the ice and dies.I just read the boy on the atv died also he was 12 years old.Just a sad sad thing.

1. As Dr. Phil says....WHAT WERE THEY THINKING?

Well, there old ice skaters and bold ice skaters
but no old bold ice skaters.

Remember, the only safe ice is at the ice skating rink.

2. Exactly it's one thing
to put your own life in danger and quite another to put the life of your child in danger. The only thing I can think of is they didn't think it was that deep.

3. I agree
I worry a lot because there's a "sledding hill" next to a holding pond about two blocks from where I live. The ducks and geese are causing the ice to crack but I'm sure I'll see footprints leading to a hole in the ice very shortly. It happens every year. Some yahoo has to see how far out on the ice they can get. Fortunately, there haven't been any fatalaties yet.

4. It's an annual thing
around here. Cars and trucks are always going through the ice, and no, they will never learn.

5. Bemidji Mn, is the only place I've lived with "vehicle recovery"
listed as a specialty for towing companies.

It's not that bad in Southeastern and South Central Wisconsin. At least it isn't that bad yet.
