Poll question: How many native Washingtonians are here?
Edited on Sun May-02-04 08:28 PM by Cascadian
I was just wondering. I am talking about those who were born and raised here. Not "newcomers". Those who have moved here in the last 20 years. Those who lived here beyond 20 years can be considered as native.

1. Born in 1968 Tacoma.
Fourth generation Washingtonian though I did spend time in the Bay Area (1984-90). My birth in Washington makes me a Native :)

16. Born Mount Vernon 1962, but lived in Anacortes for the first 25 years...
I'm back in Mount Vernon now, and I still cherish my beloved Skagit County. I began my employment life as an Ag worker picking strawberries at the age of nine (36 dollars the first season!) and have remained here, along with the growers that make this valley great.

The strawberries are three weeks early this year (Global warming, I believe) and my wife and I plan to eat them like pigs for the next few days!

God bless this Marine West Coast environment!

21. Double native
Born in Spokane. Also native by virtue of having moved back into the state over 20 years ago.

(Don't tell anyone, but if it were not crippled by being embedded in US corporatism, Seattle would be the loveliest place on the planet. Even so, seeing the Cascades on one side and the Olympics on the other and, according to Gaia's whims Mt Rainier to the South, with a lake in the center and a lake to the east and the Sound to the west, with skies that are never bland -- I love it.)

23. Native
Born and raised. My uncle had the first milking parlor in King County. It was small, true, but it was the first.

When we moved from Kirkland to Redmond, years ago, there was one flashing light in town. A much slower pace.
