Oopsie! No wonder Hutchinson didn't want her court records to be public
http://blog.seattlepi.com/seattlepolitics/archives/175754.asp

"At the time Lee was hired Hutchison was told she still part of the KIRO news team," Woodin said in the affidavit. "Hutchison was transitioned into the 12 noon and 5 p.m. newscasts. Hutchison became aware of this change in approximately March 2002 and expressed displeasure with her new role."

Hutchison had requested the Fourth of July holiday off in 2002, Woodin said, but that request was denied. She then called in sick July 3-5 of that year, Woodin said.

"We had to scramble to fill her slot and then I heard that another KIRO employee had seen Hutchison canoeing in the Bend, Oregon area on those so-called sick days," Woodin said.

When confronted, Woodin said Hutchison apologized and said she had a previously scheduled family vacation.

1. In fairness, I haven't read all the records. She may very well have had a valid case--
--had she demonstrated that other people lied about their sick days with no repercussions.

2. If you ask for a day off, then call in sick
when you don't get it, you can pretty much count on a bad performance appraisal, some unpaid time off or worse.

3. True, but the question is whether everyone pulling this scam--
--gets treated the same way.

4. Yes. At least 3 KIRO radio employees were fired for the same stunt.

5. Orly Taitz is her Facebook friend!
http://horsesass.org/?p=19083

They say you can tell a lot about a person by the friends they hang out with, and so when HA commenter I Got Nothin’ went trolling around Susan Hutchison’s Facebook page, he couldn’t help but notice her friend Orly Taitz.

And who is Orly Taitz? Only the crazy queen bee of the “birther” movement, a woman who accuses mainstream journalists of being Brownshirts, and who compares the Obama administration to Nazi Germany.

But don’t you worry, Hutchison’s friendship with Taitz doesn’t make her a Republican. After all, Hutchison is also Facebook friends with Joe Mallahan, so that makes her about as nonpartisan as they come, right?
