1. Wow - is this true?

There are abundant theories about why the date was moved. The most popular one is that Delay knows he is going to jail for at least 10 years, which means he has to go to jail while appealing the verdict. So, he wanted to go after Christmas so he could smoke some big ole cigars and announce, ‘I am the Texas Prison System’ to celebrate the birth of Little Baby Jesus at a fancy restaurant where someone else is picking up the bill.

I have no idea how his type of case is processed. Will he actually have to go to prison while he appeals the verdict?

I know the general rule of thumb is “the bigger they are, the harder they fall,” but cocky makes such a delightful splatting sound.

This is serious business. Those of us who have been irreparably damaged by the felonious money laundering scheme set into motion by Tom DeLay on the first anniversary of 9-11 (I still can’t get over that!) are hereby ready to have a little fun with it.

Time: Sunday evening, 6:00, January 9, the day before Tom’s sentencing hearing

Place: Stubb’s Barbeque in Austin

Cost: Buy yer own damn dinner

You can come share in the festivities – including some almost-very-cool door prizes – if ya simply buy your own dinner and beer. Stubb’s has graciously allowed us to bypass their requirement of no separate tickets for parties over 15 as long as we give them a head count by Friday, January 7th, at noon.
