Stomach bug afloat at Austin Convention Center but the good news is
that the evacuees are getting housing. The numbers are down from 5000 to 1400. This from my daughter who just came back from volunteering this evening.
2. Most are opting for rental where they will not have to move again and
can have their "own" space. But they might not be aware of your friend's generous offer of space if it was listed under Move-on.org and not the Red Cross, as I believe, they (RC)are not allowed to do private placement because of the liability.
I am in Dallas and I got an email asking me to print out flyers for hurricanehousing.org and take them around to hotels and to the shelters. I haven't been able to do so yet.
