"What's The Word? Thunderbird!": TN GOPers Pushing Wine Sales In Your Neighborhood Grocery Stores
I always find it very eye-opening and informative when the TNGOPers in the TNGA pushing tougher DWI/DUI laws --- such as Reps. Matthew Hill and Jason Mumpower --- don't shy away from accepting campaign contributions from Tennessee political action committees set up by alcoholic beverage industry members (In early 2008, Rep. Hill went as far as inviting surviving family members with victims of drunk drivers to a Jonesborough town hall meeting about his showboaty drunk driving legislation):

Wine-in-groceries debate resumes in Capitol hearing

"Wine and food go together on the table and should go together in the store," said Jarron Springer, president of the Tennessee Grocers & Convenience Store Association, who kicked off the three-hour hearing in a Senate hearing room packed wall to wall with lobbyists from both sides.

Not so, countered Thad Cox, owner of Ashes Wine and Spirits in Knoxville, testifying on behalf of other small liquor retailers in the state. "If wine goes in the grocery stores, I guarantee you, each and every (mom-and-pop liquor store) in the state will have to sit down and make a decision about their staff, who they would have to lay off, or even whether they could keep their doors open," he said.

Last legislative session, State Sen. Bill Ketron, R-Murfreesboro, floated two bills that would have rewritten the state's wine regulations, but both died in committee without coming to a vote. Ketron, who intends to push ahead with a new version of his wine bills in the Senate, invited both sides in the debate back for a special pre-session hearing to hash out the issue before the legislature returns to work in January.

worst experience of my life? strawberrty cisco followed by 3/4 of a bottle of nighttrain.

i was feeling fine...even pretty good after 3/4 of the bottle of cisco. i was with my brother and i remarked to him that i was feeling pretty drunk.

after that i dont remember drinking the nighttrain. he related to me that i drink most of it, started laughing and crying cause my "friend in the bottle" couldnt get out and that i was mandated to free him. he tried to get me to write things down and i guess i told him i wanted to poke his eyes out with the pen in my hand. i apparently crawled around on the ground for a while, groveling and muttering strange things. he then threw water on me which was a tragedy for me because i guess i thought water was acid and it was going to burn my retinas away.

i away (sic: awoke) the next day around 4pm feeling very awful. the hangover lasted for about 2 days afterward. it was the most painful experience in my life. worse than almost having my leg amputated. i cannot believe i actually drank Satan's piss.
