Anyone remember what happened 21 years ago today on 1/22/1987

I do - I remember when they interupted my soaps for his press conference thinking the guy was gonna resign.

Guess he showed us all.

Anyone want to take a guess at what I'm talking about?

1. Bud "I'll kill myself on television to prove my innocence" Dwyer. Wow, hadn't thought of him

in quite awhile.

It was awful to have seen and pissed me off big time. I'm sorry he felt the need to use a permanent solution to a temp. problem, well, years of prison probably didn't look too temporary to Bud.

Shame on him, hope he found his 'peace'.

I was watching live when he pulled the gun. My grandfather had committed suicide with a shotgun several months before. Obviously a terrified man.

I cannot imagine believing that public suicide would convince everyone I was innocent in any circumstances. He made himself look more guilty to many.

2. Well the suicide allowed his wife to keep the state pension

which set her up for life pretty comfortably. Had he gone to jail they would have lost everything.
