Randi Rhodes returning to KPOJ in May

I heard it on the morning show, 3-6 pm. I'm glad, because this Nancy Skinner(did you know she ran against Obama for Congress?) person's show really totally absolutelty sucks. The last week or so, since Teabagger Day, she rails against Janine Garofalo, the posters at Daily Kos, and lately Rachel Maddow for criticizing the Detroit Lions(the last straw was two days in a row about how hurtful it was!) Nancy Skinner actually makes me switch the channel. She's that bad,at least to me.

I really think having Randi back is good.

1. Randi Rhodeshow

I never really cared much for Randi. I remember she used to follow Al Franken on Air America. She had a 4 hour afternoon time slot for a while that was virtually unlistenable. Her most annoying trait (to me anyway) was that she had a tendency to interrupt and speak or shout over all her guests and callers. The Ralph Nader "interview" on her very first AA broadcast was typical Randi.

Randi(over-the-top sanctimoniously shouting): I am so angry with you! I'm a patriot! We can't afford you! I asked you a question! I am not interviewing you!

Ralph(somewhat exasperated): You've got a very bad interviewing technique. Do you have any listeners?

Randi(half crazed screaming and maniacal chuckling): I'm not interviewing you! I'm mad at you, don't you understand the difference? Don't you tell me how to do radio! You don't know politics!

Ralph: Click....dial tone.

One of the supposed heavy lifters of "liberal" talk radio attacking a guy who has done more for the progressive movement in this country in the last half century than arguably any other person, shouting him down talking points straight out of the corporatist democrat playbook. Rahm Emanuel probably wrote that memo.

And yet somehow she was still better than Springer. That show was truly fucking pathetic.

2. I disagree

Randi is good at arguing. She argues with people. Even the ones who are trying to agree with her. It gets tiresome very very rapidly

Skinner ran against Obama in a primary. Thats nothing against her. Joe Biden ran against Obama for president. Shall we condemn him as well? In the mean time, Randi moved over to Premiere, the home of Beck, Limbaugh, and Dr Laura. I wonder how much content freedom she will retain?

Neither of the 2 is my favorite. I miss having Rachel Maddow in a time slot when I can listen. But of the 2 I would far rather have Skinner, who at least listens to people. If/when Randi really returns, I will be changing the channel myself. I cannot take the useless arbitrary argumentativeness.

5. I wasn't condemning people

Please stop putting words in my mouth and running with it. I just mentioned the fact that she ran against Obama because she repeated it several times every show, ad nauseum. She also repeated time and time again she was on Fox and CNBC and maybe a few more venues she might have mentioned when I wasn't listening. I have nothing against her at all, in fact I feel sorry for her show getting bumped. I hope she does well and resurfaces soon.
