Ben Westlund busts a move

I take this as a sign that Ben is strongly considering a senate challenge to Gordo in 2008.

1. Heard that on Thom Hartmann/Heidi Tauber's show this morning.

Good for Ben--he's local for me and I like him. Someone needs to give Gordo the big smackdown--might as well be Ben! Plus good to have another Dem in the legislature this year.

2. My jaw kind of dropped off my head -- I knew he was coming around, but that was FAST

And hell, he's might just be the highest-profile Dem we have to go up against Smith without sacrificing a house seat along the way. This is the proverbial *Good Thing*.

3. Now we just need to put the fire under

Mr. Westlund to run against that piece of ______ Smith.

4. He is my rep.

While I have some differences with him on policy, I do respect and appreciate his service here on the redder east side of the Cascades, and hope we can keep him in office when he comes up for reelection.

He might be a decent choice to run against Smith; he can probably pull some moderate republican voters.

5. Hope he starts talking to Tester right away. Tester won in Red (or formerly red) Montana.

Hope Westlund can take out Gordo.
